Commercial Leases in the State of Florida are subject to State sales tax. The reduction or elimination of this tax would positively effect Florida Businesses bottom. Rep. Ahren has filed HB223 that reduces the tax on commercial leases over time. It exempts tax the first $10,000 of the lease from tax in 2018, first $20,000 in 2019, the first $30,000 in 2020. the first $40,000 in 2021, the first $50,000 in 2022, the first $60,000 in 2023, the first $70,000 in 2024, the first $80,000 in 2025, the first $90,000 in 2026. Commercial Realtors, Manufactures Association of Florida and among others are proponents.
